The 10% starting rate limit for savings is \u00a35,000 for 2017-18. If an individual’s taxable non-savings income exceeds the starting rate limit, then the 10% starting rate for savings will not be available for savings income.<\/p>\n

Dividend allowance on first \u00a35,000 of dividend income is Nil. The rates available, for dividends above the Dividend Allowance, for the 2017-18 tax year are the 7.5% dividend\u00a0basic rate, 32.5% dividend\u00a0higher rate and the 38.1%\u00a0\u00a0dividend additional rate.<\/p>\n
